The short version
- Minima Do is a subscription, billed by Apple. A free trial is offered only when Apple confirms you are eligible. Cancel in your Apple Account settings at least 24 hours before a period ends to avoid renewal. Deleting your account does not cancel the subscription.
- Ask before you record other people. That responsibility is yours.
- What you record and write stays yours.
- AI can get things wrong. Check anything important, and treat Live's cards as suggestions.
- These terms follow the law of England and Wales and do not take away your rights as a consumer.
This summary is here to help you read what follows. The full text below is what applies.
1. Who we are
Minima Do is operated by Mistral Spark Limited, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 16874200. “We”, “us” and “our” mean Mistral Spark Limited. These terms are a contract between you and us. They cover the Minima Do app for iPhone and iPad and the service behind it (together, “Minima Do”). By creating an account or using Minima Do you accept them. How we handle personal data is in the Privacy Notice.
2. Who can use Minima Do
You must be at least 13, or at least 16 in the United Kingdom and the European Economic Area, and able to enter into a contract, or have a parent or guardian do so for you. Buying a subscription is subject to Apple's rules for your Apple Account.
3. Your account
You sign in with Apple or Google. One account is for one person; do not share it. You are responsible for what happens in your account, so keep the Apple Account or Google Account you sign in with secure. Tell us at ai@sumletter.com if you think someone else has got in.
4. Minima Do Pro
4.1 A subscription
Minima Do needs an active Minima Do Pro subscription, or a free trial, to record and to use its features. Without one, the app shows the subscription screen, from which you can still restore a purchase, sign out or delete your account.
4.2 Plans, prices and renewal
Pro is offered monthly and yearly. The App Store shows the price in your currency before you pay, and that is the price that applies. In the United States it is currently $2.99 a month or $29.99 a year. Apple takes payment and the subscription renews automatically at the end of each period unless you cancel it in your Apple Account settings at least 24 hours before the period ends. If the price changes, Apple tells you in advance and, where the law or Apple's rules require it, asks you to agree before you pay the new price.
4.3 Free trial
New subscribers may be offered a free trial (currently 7 days) when the App Store offers one and Apple confirms your Apple Account is eligible. The app shows the trial and the price that follows it before you start. Unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, the subscription starts and Apple charges you. Where notifications are allowed, the app reminds you before the trial ends.
4.4 Refunds
Apple handles payments and refunds under its own terms; ask Apple for a refund through reportaproblem.apple.com. Your rights as a consumer are not affected.
4.5 Limits
Each kind of recording has a maximum length, shown in the app. Today these are 3.5 minutes for a to-do dump, 2 hours for a meeting and 2 hours for a journal entry. We may change limits to keep the service working well; if a change reduces what you have paid for in a way that matters, we will tell you first.
4.6 Deleting your account
Deleting your Minima Do account does not cancel your subscription. Cancel it in your Apple Account settings.
5. Recording other people
This is the most important rule in these terms.
- Get permission from everyone you record wherever the law or the situation requires it. Laws differ by country and by state, and many require everyone in a conversation to agree. Workplaces, schools, courts, medical settings and events may forbid recording altogether.
- Tell people before you record them. The app reminds you, but the responsibility stays with you.
- Do not record private conversations you are not part of, do not record people secretly, and do not use Minima Do to gather information about people in ways they would not expect.
- You are responsible for what you do with recordings, transcripts and summaries, and if you record people as part of a business, for your duties to them under data protection law.
6. Your content
You own what you record and write in Minima Do (“your content”). You give us a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive licence to host, copy, process and display your content only as needed to run Minima Do for you, including sending it to the service providers listed in the Privacy Notice to be transcribed and written up. The licence ends when you delete the content or your account, apart from backups that expire on their normal schedule.
You confirm you have the rights and permissions needed to give us this licence. We do not use your content to advertise to you, and we do not use it to train AI models.
7. AI can be wrong
Transcripts, titles, summaries, to-dos, due dates, journal entries and Live's cards are written by AI. They can be incomplete or wrong, especially names, numbers, dates and who said what. Check anything important before you rely on it. Live's cards are suggestions only. Nothing in Minima Do is professional, legal, medical or financial advice.
8. Rules
Do not use Minima Do to:
- break the law, or record or share anyone without the permission section 5 requires;
- create or store content that is illegal, harassing, hateful, or that infringes someone's rights;
- probe, overload, reverse engineer or get around the security or limits of Minima Do;
- build a competing service, or collect output to train AI models;
- make decisions where a wrong output could cause serious harm without a person checking it.
We may remove content or suspend accounts that break these rules.
9. Other services
Minima Do relies on other companies, listed in the Privacy Notice, to sign you in, take payment, transcribe and write. We are responsible for choosing them and for how we use them, but not for outages of their services outside our control.
10. Availability and changes
We work to keep Minima Do running, but cannot promise it will always be available or free of errors. Recording depends on your device, its microphone and its connection, so keep your own copy of anything you cannot afford to lose. We may change, add or remove features; if we remove something you paid for in a way that matters, we will tell you and offer a fair remedy.
Minima Do 3.0 is a new app on a new system and starts with an empty account. To-dos, memos and notes from earlier versions were not moved into it; see the Privacy Notice for that data.
11. Ending things
You can stop using Minima Do and delete your account at any time from Profile, or from the subscription screen. That deletes your data as described in the Privacy Notice.
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, where the law requires it, or to protect others, with notice where we can. We may also stop offering Minima Do; if we do, we will give you reasonable notice and a chance to copy your content. Sections that by their nature should continue, such as liability and the law that applies, continue after your account ends.
12. Our liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud, and nothing affects your statutory rights as a consumer. In the United Kingdom and the European Union, the service must match its description and be provided with reasonable care and skill.
Subject to that, we are not liable for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable, for business losses, or for losses caused by relying on AI output without checking it. Our total liability to you for anything connected with Minima Do is limited to the greater of the amount you paid for Minima Do in the 12 months before the claim and £100.
13. Apple App Store terms
This section applies because you got Minima Do from the Apple App Store.
- These terms are between you and us only, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for Minima Do or its content.
- Your licence to use the app is limited to Apple devices you own or control, as the Usage Rules in Apple's Media Services Terms and Conditions allow, including Family Sharing where it applies.
- We, not Apple, are responsible for maintenance and support. Apple has no duty to provide either.
- If the app fails to meet an applicable warranty, you can tell Apple and Apple will refund the purchase price. To the extent the law allows, Apple has no other warranty obligation, and any other claims, losses or costs from such a failure are our responsibility.
- We, not Apple, are responsible for any claims about the app, including product liability, failure to meet legal or regulatory requirements, consumer protection, privacy, and intellectual property infringement.
- You confirm you are not in a country under a US government embargo or designated as supporting terrorism, and are not on a US government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- You must follow any third-party terms that apply when you use the app.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We publish each version here with its effective date and keep earlier versions available. If a change matters, we tell you in the app before it applies and ask you to accept the new terms before you continue. If you do not agree, you can stop using Minima Do and delete your account.
15. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer living elsewhere in the United Kingdom or in the European Union, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the place where you live and may bring a claim in your local courts. Please write to us first; most problems are easier to fix by talking.
If a part of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest still applies. If we do not enforce a term straight away, we have not given it up. You may not transfer your rights under these terms without our agreement; we may transfer ours to a business that takes over Minima Do.
